Postpartum Patients

Therapy offers a supportive space to explore this new role and time in your life and to reconnect with your sense of self.

Postpartum

The postpartum period can be joyful and deeply challenging at the same time. You may love being a mom while also feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the person you were before having a baby.

Changes in your body, low energy, difficulty keeping up with familiar activities, and pressure to “bounce back” can affect how you feel about yourself. You may also feel guilty asking for help or believe you should be able to manage everything on your own, even when you are running on little sleep. As you adjust to new responsibilities, you may miss time with your partner, feel less connected in your relationship, or worry about returning to work after maternity leave.

Therapy can offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space to process these changes, manage postpartum anxiety, build confidence in asking for support, and find ways to care for yourself while navigating the demands of new parenthood.
