Parenthood

Life transitions and new roles can bring up uncertainty, mixed emotions, and questions about what is happening and what comes next.

Parents

Balancing work and parenting can feel overwhelming, especially when you feel responsible for keeping everything running smoothly. You may worry about being late, taking time off when your child is sick, or being judged by coworkers for not being able to “handle it all.” At home, the mental load of managing schedules, childcare, household responsibilities, and your child’s needs can leave you feeling like you are the only one asking for help. It can also be difficult to trust someone else to take over responsibilities you have carried for so long, or to leave your child in someone else’s care without worrying about how they are doing.

Guilt can show up in every direction, whether you are at work, at home, or navigating decisions about daycare and sick days. Add in unsolicited opinions from family and friends, and it can be easy to lose sight of your own instincts and what feels right for your family.

Therapy can provide a supportive space to work through parenting stress, mom guilt, mental load anxiety, relationship challenges, and the complex emotions that can come with developing your identity as a parent.
